RESCHEDULED EUROPEAN DATES ANNOUNCED

By Machine Head

Shout out to our booking agent Adam Saunders for being able to reschedule a nearly 2 month long tour through a staggering amount of countries.

While we are thrilled to announce these rescheduled dates and very much look forward to seeing you all, some dates were simply not possible to reschedule, and with the ongoing pandemic, we will be monitoring the situation closely to ensure the reality of doing them. Of the utmost importance to us is the health and safety of the Head Cases. We will not put you or others at risk, during this unprecedented time. As is quite obvious, nearly all of the dates we've listed are still in a "Shelter In Place" situation, with no public gatherings allowed over 10 people.  We are all hoping that this will be sorted out by then, if that is not the case by August, will make a decision as to whether we will be allowed to proceed.

Stay home, wash your hands, social distance, we will power through this friends.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE TURNS 23

By Machine Head

At 23 years of age, our 2nd album is officially old enough to get ten ton hammered!

Filled with such live staples as "Ten Ton Hammer", "Take My Scars" and "Struck A Nerve", TMTC sounds as fresh and heavy today as it did back then.

TMTC fun facts:
- First 2 songs written for the album we're "The Frontlines" and Struck A Nerve”.

- "The Frontlines" was debuted in Europe on the 1995 headline run for "Burn My Eyes”  while drummer Chris Kontos was still in the band, and inspired an uber-awesome message board of the same name. "Struck A Nerve" was debuted later that year on 1995 BME U.S. headline run w/ Stuck Mojo and Wickerman.

Watch Chris Kontos play it below:

- The album was recorded and mixed at The Plant in Sausalito, CA, Scream Studios in Burbank, CA, Parr St. studios in Liverpool, England, Hyde Street in San Francisco, CA and finally Larrabee Studios in West Hollywood.

- Prior to re-amping technology, TMTC was remixed 3 times and guitars were re-recorded 3 times to achieve the ultimate heavy guitar tone! It STILL out-heavy's most modern metal guitar tone.

- While mixing in Liverpool, the boys spent a wild night getting hammered with Ian Gillian of Deep Purple fame. He listened to the entire TMTC album at near deafening volume, and drank with the boys til 7AM sharing the most insane rock-n-roll stories EVER!

- Robb infamously banned MH A&R guru Monte Conner from ever attending an MH studio session again.

- The boys would take a chance on their 3rd remix bringing in a young, unknown engineer named Andy Sneap to assist. His talents, and fresh perspective greatly helped the album. He would become one of the most sought-after metal producers of today, and currently performs as lead guitarist in Judas Priest

- Problems plagued the recording including: Entire guitar tracks and vocals getting erased (this was pre-pro tools), Robb stress constipation, didn't poop for a week.

- Ex-drummer Dave McClain shattered his knee in a car crash on the freeway, was unable to play for months. Luckily the remixes allowed him the time to heal.

- It debuted in the Top 20 in Europe/UK, and #138 on the US Billboard charts, and sold 10,000 copies in the U.S. it's first week.

- Videos for "Ten Ton Hammer" and "Take My Scars" featured live footage shot at The Berkeley Square in Berkeley, The Trocadero In Philadelphia, and The Vic Theater in Chicago.
Watch "Ten Ton Hammer" and "Take My Scars"
- Headlined Dynamo open air festival 1997 Holland.

- 6 tours criss-crossed the U.S. including 3 headline tours, Ozzfest MainStage slot (2nd band of day), main support to Corrosion Of Conformity, and main support Pantera. Support on headline tours came from Vision Of Disorder, Downset, Neurosis, Snot, Drain STH, Napalm Death, Skinlab, Entombed, Misery Loves Company, and Coal Chamber

- On this day 22 years ago the boys were at an HMV doing a record store meet-n-greet in London.

- Favorite song among band members at the time: the rarely played "Blood Of The Zodiac”.

- TMTC would go on to sell half a million albums worldwide.

What do YOU remember about The More Things Change? Many reviews at the time felt it was not as strong as BME, do you agree? Did you see us live on this album?

ROBB TO PERFORM ACOUSTIC SET TODAY AT 1PM

By Machine Head

Sign up HERE

Today (Friday) at 1pm after his Facebook Live at noon, Robb will perform an acoustic set alongside his son Wyatt on a few songs.

Robb adds “As some of you know, I had been booking an acoustic tour in Europe for June of this year. I was basically going to bring my family out and I was going to play a handful of acoustic dates right after our European tour ended, and the plan was to have my son Wyatt join me for a few songs.

Well, that all fell apart…

With movement here in the bay area limited, not to mention the frustration of having our entire tour canceled, there’s a lot of pent up musical energy that needs to be released.

With my son outta school until at least September, he and I have been jamming and we came up with a pretty rad acoustic version of “Circle The Drain” with him playing cello.  Here it is for you guys to listen to. In fact the whole 33 minute performance is over on my Instagram live page for the next six hours or so for free.

Our partners at nugs.net suggested I do an acoustic performance on their site.  This is a crazy time, our lives are all about to change dramatically. But we still have music. I know times are tough for a lot of folks right now, getting laid off and struggling to keep businesses open, so if you can't watch it I totally understand.  I’m right there with ya.  The first two songs will be streamed on Facebook for free regardless.

We've got to keep putting music out, we have to keep being creative, we have to lift each other spirits up. Hopefully this will help some of you.”

Sign up to watch Robb’s acoustic performance on Nugs HERE

You can also subscribe to Nugs on stream audio and video of Machine Head Live shows from nearly all 2019 and 2020 performances.  In honor of their debut album dropping in 1994 stream it for 3 months for only .94 cents a month.

TEN TON TRADING CO. COVID-19 UPDATE

By Machine Head

NEWS / COVID-19
TEN TON TRADING CO. COVID-19 UPDATE

During the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we wanted to take a moment to explain what we at Ten Ton Trading Co. are doing.

We are closely following the advice of Public Health England and the World Health Organization, introducing a variety of measures to minimize the impact to public health and to ensure safe and responsible operation.

We are operating and all those working have access to disinfectant, hand sanitizer and soap and are being meticulous with personal hygiene. All staff who can work from home are doing so.

Our customer service emails are being monitored for extended hours: in the US - 9AM to 8PM California time, and standard hours for our EU distributor 8AM to 5PM Great Britain time.  Please feel free to contact us to discuss any queries or concerns via email at orders@tentontradingco.com

Importantly, the WHO and US CDC have stated that the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus contaminating plastic poly-bags or other shipping containers is low, so please do not be put off from ordering online.

Additionally USPS and UPS assures us their service continues anywhere government restrictions do not apply, though deliveries may be delayed. We will keep you updated with shipping updates as we receive them.

Finally, we are a small DIY business. Machine Head own, design, print, fulfill, and run all aspects of Ten Ton Trading Co.  We are not owned or financed by a large merchandise corporation or large corporate record company like many other bands, we are 100% self-financed and every purchase you make goes directly to the band to sustain the music and culture we have created.

Last year, we opened an international online store and hired a European fulfillment company in order to bring the shipping costs drastically down to international Head Cases, as well as negate the occasional but inconvenient customs charges.  Our EU online store is also fully operational and you can expect them to adhere to the same strict sanitization procedures as our US online store.

Please do your best to support your local small businesses during this period, this is going to be a tough time for all of us, your support of all musicians and artist during this time go a long way in helping us get back on track as many touring artist have suffered catastrophic losses during this unprecedented time.

Thank you

- Machine Head
